What is the schedule for the outdoor games? And will they be at fox 4?

13 June 2012 - 04:26 PM

I am asking because I know you got the new field. Also can you read my aar for the previous game? Please keep everyone informed and do your best to promote the game on other local forums! Airsoftct is a great one I know several people on there would love to go to one of your games if you posted the information.

AAR: Operation BlackJack

16 April 2012 - 03:23 PM

Would like to say that i had a blast and it was good day to play, it was a slightly humid day due to the overcast-ed clouds and the rising heat. i had a problem with my full-seal fogging up but otherwise i had a blast.

The games:

Game 1: My friends and i arrived late and were not really Briefed in to what were exactly doing. there was some general confusion with everyone when we were loading up. we were then lead out onto the field and when we all got into the spawn we were asked to split into groups, this is where everything kinda fell by the way side. aside from at the least our "team leader" not telling us what the general goals were and where the commander wanted us to go, there also was no safety netting for us to go into if our goggles fogged (happened to me several times). When the game started pretty much our entire team with the exception to the 6 of us in our "squad" went along the complete left hand side of the map, so it was up to us 6 to take the center town, which we did pretty quickly however it was quickly taken over by the Tan team after we were over run, we re spawned and attempted to retake it however we all were pinned down, i went on the extreme right of the bridge across the stream and saw my team get obliterated and was the only one left after i saw the entire tan team overrun my position i thought that i saw one of there team see me so i was in a position to take them out i proceeded to do so. i got about 6 guys out, before i was sniped in the head from across the map, the Ref came over and was explaining to me that he was trying to give me better cover and was impressed with how long i lasted in that position, and also how one of the guys i got out was telling his team mates where i was despite the fact that he was dead... which prompted a hail of gunfire and me getting out. at that point i went back to spawn and found some of our team just firing down at the tan team to keep them back, no one moving forward. i then proceeded again on the right and got another couple of kills before the tan team retreated. we followed and were again repulsed. it was at this point that i came back to the base to find that our spawn was being over run and that the tan was coming from the direction that our entire team went in the beginning of the game. i was pretty pissed at the fact that no one was doing anything and that everyone was just sitting around taking pot shots at them instead of moving up and taking them out. The Ref that was in our base seemed that he did not know the rules and that after i took out some of them and then proceeded to get taken out my self i had to let the ref know that all tan was dead because they were in our spawn, i had a similar situation earlier when i was in the tan spawn and was told that i was automatically dead. i then followed the dead tan back to their base area and was about to take out about 4 guys who were assaulting the Green base when the game ended. From what i gathered the game was a S&R (search and Rescue) and from what i was told by people we never found the Pilots....

Break:

Second Game: Same Spawn as first and over all just a force on Force game.... it started to rain for a bit, and then at the End it was a Tan and Green Vs the CTU guys, i am sorry but why didn't they have dead rags... many were shot multiple times due to a lack of dead rags which is a staple and a requirement in these settings. after we got 95% of them out there was alot of sitting around and not doing anything they told us there was a sniper that no one wanted to take out... the green team ended walking back the spawn when we came up to the missle base and we held a coup.... we started to fire upon the Tans Immedialty when they came in range and had a blast with that it was quite funny.... and the dude who got the Knife Kill major props to him....i managed to get a "Bayonet" kill after my battery died... at that point the game was over and we all came off the field...

Pro's:
Great field and setup.
no taping of players.
overcast not so hot.

Cons: (sorry in advance for the harshness)
Poor planning and execution, what i mean by this is that objectives were not really laid out, and there was no secondary objectives either.... this was a major problem throughout the game as it went from an S&R to just a force on force... many new players did not know where to go, and there was no safely netting as a safe area in the Green Spawn, i am not sure about the others as i did not see one.
Safety there was a major thing about barrel covers and Goggles... but no safety netting on the field for people to adjust this is a major let down....
Also we had to have a ref escort us to the staging area as there was a private paintball party going on....
What the hell was this "no Full Auto rule" ? i understand in building being semi and what not but overall semi only is pretty much a huge drag, at the very least when your in the field it needs to be full auto as an option... i run mids and my gun does not have a fire selector only a two stage trigger... so i pretty much can only go burst or auto when i am running and gunning.... this needs to be changed for future event...

Suggestions:
Dead Rags for CTU players.. and not to be an asshole but i am sorry this is not CQB so stop complaining when someone doesn't call their hits... we all deal with it the only thing you can do is to shot them even more....this was true at the end when we all ganged up on CTU, you know you have about 50 people coming after you, and not everyone is experienced or even honest....

Ref's need to be trained better... Frankly i was reffing for a bit, as the field refs were concerned with safety which is good but there deff should have been more attention to hit calling and base raping rules...

Vary the Objectives and have Secondary ones.... Take this area and hold it for this long....

Print maps up for each player.... staples 10 cents a copy.... mark off the out of bounds and on the reverse side have the basic rules and objectives.... I have seen this done and it has come in handy many many times especially if there are any disputes about what objectives or rules are... different fields have different rules.. The CO's can have better more detailed maps and objectives...

Radios.... this must be made mandatory that all squads have at least 2 radios....very difficult to coordinate anything when no one has one... or your CO doesn't either....(sorry buddy no one wants to stay with you to be your radio man)

squads need to be made up before we go out on the fields, and everyone needs to know what the general objectives are, once we are on the field we can be told what any secondary ones are... Take out this base, take VIP hostage, Take enemy CO hostage.... ETC...

Don't use hit players as human shields... seen this many times and had it happen to me many times.... this was on both teams...

Medic rules..... Frankly there was no real distinguishing between who was, an who was not a medic...this was a pain in the ass simply because our team only had 2. if there are medics they need to be marked with something, anything even if its a Red Cross band, because there were times when i noticed players tagging other players back in and visa verse, the other team could not have had 7 medics if we only had 2....

Pricing i understand it was the first game of the "season" however it was a bit of a let down after the fact... spending 35.00 for what we did... not to deter anyone it was a fun time.... it was just a bit steep in terms of the price, some of the previous suggestions don't cost that much but would drastically increase the game tempo and overall fun factor. if anyone wants me to send some further ones let me know other wise, i would suggest getting into contact with OPS out of CT they have done some pretty sweet Scenario Games. Nothing against anyone here i just want to increase the Tempo and Fun Factor.
