So i went to install a mosfet in my p90, i followed this guide EXACTLY, however when i tested it the mosfet and wiring caught on fire...is this guide incorrect? has anyone here put a mosfet in their p90 and done it differently? or should i just assume the chip was defective?

I have yet to install a mosfet in a P90 but have installed dozens of mosfets in other guns. Looking at their diagram it is correct. When your wiring melts it is caused by a short somewhere. What wire melted?

The gate wire melted, which was weird because i thought there was not supposed to be a lot of current going through the gate wire

Did it melt as soon as you plugged a battery in or when you pulled the trigger?

That usually happens when the power and the gate short.

Could that mean they were touching within the chip? It was covered with heat shrink wrap so it's not something i would have been able to see from the outside
