When we were at SHOT Show, we meet the guys from Uber Group and they have been nice enough to send us a pair of Salomon’s XA Pro 3D Ultra Shoes in moss color.  These are being worn by our men and women overseas in the sandbox for outside the wire operations and for training on a daily basis.  These shoes come in many different styles (Low, Mid, and High top models).  They are available in Gortex and non-Goretex versions as well.

 

I got a chance to use these for a bit and they are very comfortible to wear and a really cool feature is the cord lock that you use to tighten the shoe. The tongue has a small “pouch” that allows you to tuck the lock and the excess cordage up and out of the way. I know it is a small detail, but a very nice one.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The toe area has a nice rubberized covering that helps protect it (and your toes) from rocks and junk you may encounter on the trail or in the desert or a city street.

Overall, it is a very comfortible shoe that combines the benefits of a running shoe, with that of a hiking boot. You get the weight savings, and versitility in a great package.
